Hi, my name is Carlos Jonathan Giraldo, but please call me Jonathan. I am a recent graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Cinema & Media Arts, and also a practicing photographer for the past 6 years!
For me, I feel photography and just being able to capture moments have been something I have been truly drawn to. I developed this philosophy a bit ago about how I felt my work freezes moments, and for the most part, I feel I still agree with this sentiment, but I feel it has grown to something even more. I don’t typically describe my photos as “beautiful” but as “raw”, saying my photos feel truly lived in with an experience and moment, not just something that appeals to the eye but says nothing. In every single frame of my photos, past my work ethic and experience, I capture the split second of an eternally beautiful moment.
